If you’re a keen skier, there’s no doubt at all that you’re eager to experience perfect powder on the piste. But what if you fancy some pampering off piste? From fine dining to free ski valets, top-class skiing around the world offers a VIP experience. Yes, it usually comes with a matching price tag, but what price can you put on a once in a lifetime experience? Unless you can afford to do it more often – of course!

Here’s four of the very best:

St Moritz, Switzerland

Renowned as one of the most exclusive ski resorts in the world, St Moritz is legendary. The resort is in Switzerland, a prosperous and wealthy country. It’s best known for producing luxury watches and the highest quality chocolate. In 2015, Switzerland was also found to be the happiest place to live in the world by The World Happiness Report, and that’s hardly a surprise. It’s breathtaking. St Moritz is the jewel in the crown of the Alps, where visitors are treated like royalty. The weather is stunning – the alpine resort has, on average, 300 days of sunshine a year.

Deer Park, Utah

Deer Park is one of the most upmarket ski resorts in the USA. Refined and elegant, the exclusive resort is just one of three resorts in the “Beehive State” to have banned snowboarding. The alpine destination is luxe personified. It’s more upmarket than its surrounding neighbours in the Wasatch mountains. Deer valley lodging boasts fine dining and luxury boutiques in the chic shopping village. You won’t have to lift a finger, there are complimentary ski-valets to carry your equipment for you up the slopes. There’s also complimentary childcare provision, so you can spend time on the slopes without having to worry about the children.

Val D’Isere, France

The Alpine resort has always been popular with the Brits. Val D’Isere is the number one destination of skiers from the UK. The French commune is situated in the south east, just a few miles from the border with Italy. The family friendly resort offers all sorts of activities. From classes in the classic patisserie to white knuckle experiences in the snow, there’s something to suit everyone. If you opt for luxury, that’s exactly what you’ll get. With charming chocolate box style chalets, and some of the most stunning scenery, Val D’Isere remains as delightful as ever. Don’t be fooled, it has some of the toughest slopes in Europe.

Aspen, Colorado

Aspen has been a favorite with the rich, royalty and the well heeled for over 40 years. You can’t deny it’s opulent charm, which has been kept in keeping with the local area to spectacular effect. The top-class resort is kept in line with local building laws. This makes sure the beautiful environs aren’t spoiled with any tacky newcomers. Aspen is all about elegant opulence but it does have a wild side. During the seventies it was a magnet for musicians and the stories are legendary. Nowadays, it’s a little more refined, but it’s still a big draw for those with a hedonistic side.
