Early to Grab the Bargains, Early to Win Big

I have a saying, and it’s one that most people know – the early bird catches the worm. You’ve heard it a million times, right?  Well, in the case of grabbing holiday bargains it certainly is true, and whilst you might think that last minute deals are the way forward, I beg to differ.  Although the stock market really does like Priceline!

Booking early gives you more time to save, it gives you time to grab those free child places, and you have time to organise everything, without rushing around and forgetting something important.

As soon as you book your holiday, give some serious thought to how you’re going to get to the airport, and for me, it would always be driving and booking my parking spot with www.airparks.co.uk. Why? Well, I’ve had too many stressed out experiences with public transport, and because I don’t live that close to an airport, I’ve taken to booking Gatwick parking, taking my time to drive down there, stopping in a leisurely manner whenever I see fit. This idea takes the stress out of A to B travel for me, and has the added bonus of saving money. Win-win!

We mentioned those free child places, and they do still exist! The problem is you might not be seeing that many of them nowadays because they’re snapped up so early by people who grab their bargains as soon as the dates are released by travel companies. This is a sensible move because one child going for free is a major saving for a family.

Having extra time to save up is another perk, because it’s more manageable. Especially if you plan on going somewhere expensive like Australia or Antarctica.  Having to save up a considerable amount of money in a short space of time is difficult, worrying in case something unforeseen happens, and basically takes all the fun out of the holiday countdown. Spreading the cost over several months is more achievable, and you’re free to enjoy the build-up.

Holiday companies generally start advertising their summer holidays with a vengeance around the first week of January, trying to take advantage of the fact that everyone has the January blues, however the dates are usually out a month or two before then. I’ve been known to book a summer holiday a full 12 months before I’m actually departing before now, and whilst that may sound rather too organised for some people, it got me over my post-holiday blues when I returned from that year’s summer jaunt!

There are many arguments as to why booking early is the way to go, and for me, it will always be my first option.
