People might typically head to Australia or New Zealand if they are thrill-seeking. But perhaps you have found yourself spending a summer in America and you just so happen to be a total adrenaline junkie. Fear not, the states have some pretty intense activities to get your heart racing.

  1. Grand Canyon Skywalk

Okay, okay, we’re starting off pretty safe here. But the Grand Canyon Skywalk is by no means for the faint-hearted. At 219m up and made entirely of glass, we’re confident the Skywalk will leave you feeling at least a little invigorated.

  1. See the sights from a helicopter

Views of the New York skyline don’t get much better than in a NYC helicopter tour. Grab your camera and catch a ride as the sun sets over New York City. It’s the perfect romantic treat for your thrill-seeking other half too!

  1. Whitewater Rafting

While you are at the Grand Canyon, you might as well give this a go too. Whitewater raft at your peril along the Colorado River. Officially serving as a UNESCO site, there isn’t a much more beautiful backdrop to accompany you as you thrash through the river.

  1. Volcano Hiking

Head to the beautiful island of Maui for a taste of everything the Aloha state has to offer. Smaller than Hawaii but by no means the smallest of these islands, Maui is a place left mostly unexplored at present. Hike along the rough sands of the volcanic island to feel truly at one with nature.

  1. Cave Diving

For a unique day out with friends, head to Florida to go cave diving at Devil’s Eye Cave. Although you need to be a certified diver for this, training is available here. It’s well worth putting in the hours for the breath-taking underwater views that you’ll experience.

  1. Head to Vail for the winter

Many thrill-seekers head to Vail for the winter. Its notorious reputation exceeds it. The Colorado skiing spot is not only home to miles of challenging ski trails. It is also renowned for biking, hiking and whitewater rafting in warmer months.

  1. Skydiving

It’s a classic! Las Vegas is an amazing place to skydive. You are amidst the beautiful Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and Red Rock Canyon. This isn’t the place to take a gamble though, ensure you do your research and book in with well-respected skydive experts.

  1. Rock climbing

Even if you are a total beginner, rock climbing holidays will satisfy that constant need for adrenalin. Best suited to warmer climates for dryer rock conditions, America is the perfect location to try this out.

  1. Bungee jumping

Get a different perspective on life all together with your first ever bungee jump. Tick this one off your bucket list in Southern California. You could not hope for better surroundings than this stunning landscape. You can even head to a nearby vineyard for a well-deserved glass of wine after too.

So, thrill-seekers, hope that gives you enough to keep you entertained this year. Take a dip in caves and caverns during summer and dive into fresh powder snow during the winter. The majority of these activities are available across America, but do make sure you book in with a trusted team. It gets your adrenalin pumping for a reason – it’s genuinely dangerous stuff!
