Enjoy it and explore California’s Pacific Coast Highway for a thrilling driving experience along a windy 123-mile route. The trip typically lasts 5 hours if you do not rush it.

San Francisco

San Francisco is a great starting point for your road trip. Drive along the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, before you explore the Golden Gate Park. San Francisco is filled with places to visit, and the possibilities are endless; Fisherman’s Wharf, Alcatraz island and Union Square will give you a glimpse of the local culture and ambiance.

San Jose

You can also visit the acquarium, which boasts spectacular, beautiful exhibits that you cannot appreciate anywhere else. Furthermore, you can visit the Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, where you can enjoy hiking, natural wonders and parks. In Monterey, you can also watch whales, go sailing, kayaking, golfing and biking.

If you have time to spare, you can drive along the breathtaking “17 Mile Drive” and explore Carmel-by-the-sea: a charming seaside village that is buzzing with cafés, restaurants and shops.

San Diego

San Diego is located 120 miles south of Los Angeles, and lies on the Mexican border. San Diego is the birth place of California, and it represents the Californian way of life. You can soak in culture in San Diego, but you can also go to the beach, explore the Boardwalk, go surfing and enjoy the delicious local food, consisting in sea food or dishes inspired by Mexican cuisine. You can even enjoy the night life and go to a free concert at the Spreckles Organ Pavilion on a Sunday.
