The Philippines is one of the favorite holiday destinations of many Europeans especially those from the United Kingdom because of the beautiful attractions, friendly people, and perfect warm weather. Usually tourists stay in Metro Manila before flying to other vacation hotspots such as Cebu, Boracay, Bohol, and Palawan. No need to travel far anymore because there are many amazing day trips near Metro Manila. This will save you a lot of time and of course money because provincial flights in the Philippines are quite costly.

Before heading to the Philippines, those coming from the United Kingdom can safely leave their car within the airport parking or near the airport. Parking4Less.com offers secured on-airport and off-airport parking even for those who will be away for a long time. Knowing that your car is secured, you can now enjoy the day trips near Metro Manila. Check out our top three destinations:

Intramuros Walking Tour by Carlos Celdran

This is less of a day trip and more of just an afternoon activity in metro Manila.  This was the highlight of our trip, and it is the only must-see thing to do in Manila in my opinion.  Carlos’s tour gives you the real, unfiltered history of the city once known as the Pearl of the Orient.  You can see Carlos’s schedule on his website here.

Anilao, Batangas

This place is considered a diver’s paradise because of the magnificent marine life, colorful corals, and beautiful sunset. There are many resorts and diving centers available in Anilao so you can choose what best fits your budget. Getting there is easy because you can ride a bus from Manila going to Batangas City. Travel time only takes about two and a half hours.
Taal Volcano, Batangas

If you prefer hiking rather than diving, then the best place to go is at Taal Volcano in Talisay, Batangas. The Taal Volcano is known worldwide for being the smallest active volcano and the lake within the volcano is simply amazing. You can ride a bus going to Tagaytay before riding a jeep to Talisay then a small boat to the volcano. Total travel time is approximately one hour and a half.

Corregidor Island, Manila Bay

Historical buffs will surely enjoy a day trip to Corregidor Island, which is just 15 minutes away from Manila via boat ride. Learn more about the history of the Philippines by visiting the famous landmarks in Corregidor including the Malinta Tunnel, Pacific War Memorial, Filipinos Heroes Memorial, and the Lighthouse. If you don’t have a weak heart, then you can join the ghost hunting tour in this island.
